Hill Watching - Tuesday, April 29th, 2008 - DoD Chemical Tests & Community Service

On the Senate side, one of the many bills aimed at assisting issues our veterans are forced to deal with. This one by Sen. Tester will basically provide support to the vets who have been used as lab rats, as if their jobs were not bad enough in these times of war:

By Mr. TESTER:
S. 2937. A bill to provide permanent treatment authority for participants in Department of Defense chemical and biological testing conducted by Deseret Test Center and an expanded study of the health impact of Project Shipboard Hazard and Defense, and for other purposes; to the Committee on Veterans' Affairs.

In the House, love this bill from Moran saying a Federal employee can use up to 2 sick days a year to perform community service. Nice! Here it is:

By Mr. MORAN of Virginia:
H.R. 5922. A bill to amend title 5, United States Code, to provide that a Federal employee may use up to 2 days of sick leave a year in the performance of community service; to the Committee on Oversight and Government Reform.
